Our Board Certified Otolaryngologists Commonly Use the Following Techniques and Procedures to Treat Sinus Problems

Pioneers In Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Review Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

If You Suffer from Chronic Sinusitis, We Know How You Feel
You experience facial pain and pressure, headaches, nasal congestion, feel as if you constantly have a cold, don’t breathe well, don’t sleep well, feel more tired than usual, and you may even begin to feel depressed or begin to lose your sense of smell and taste. We have the solution! We have developed a less invasive procedure with minimal downtime that has helped thousands of people in Philadelphia finally rid themselves of chronic sinus pain. It’s called Endoscopic Sinus Surgery which successfully detects and treats chronic sinus diseases that were previously undiagnosed through routine x-rays and physical examinations. The result is early detection and advanced treatment of affected sinus areas.

Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Is A Safe, Gentle Out-Patient Procedure With Little Discomfort
We perform Endoscopic Sinus Surgery on an out-patient basis under local sedation/anesthesia. There is little discomfort with no expected bruising or swelling. No external changes are made. In addition, as a minimally invasive procedure, in most cases no nasal packing is required. Endoscopic Sinus Surgery offers you safe, gentle and long-lasting relief from sinus pain and is covered by medical insurance.

Balloon Sinuplasty

Reviews Balloon Sinuplasty Becker

Surgeons from all over the United States travel to our Center to learn Balloon Sinuplasty techniques.

Balloon Sinuplasty is an alternative to traditional sinus surgery and is performed in the office under local anesthesia. It safely and gently relieves the pain and pressure associated with chronic sinusitis and is a consideration for patients who are not responding well to medications such as antibiotics, nasal steroids, or over-the-counter (OTC) drugs.

The Balloon Sinuplasty procedure is similar to how angioplasty uses balloons to open blocked arteries. A small balloon is introduced to the sinus and then slowly inflated which serves to gently widen and restructure the walls of the sinus passage without cutting. There is minimal bleeding, no packing, and faster recovery.

Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty

Reviews Septoplasty Morehouse

Many people identify rhinoplasty with a nose job. However, since 80% of nasal septums are not perfectly situated at the midline of the nose (deviated), rhinoplasty, in addition to its cosmetic benefit, can also treat chronic sinus infections and improve airflow in the sinuses (breathing) caused by injury, trauma, or genetics. Septoplasty is the procedure that corrects a deviated septum and can be performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty.

Turbinate Reduction

Reviews Septoplasty Patitucci

Septoplasty, the procedure that corrects a deviated septum, can also be performed in conjunction with a turbinate reduction.

The inferior turbinate humidifies, heats, and filters inhaled air. It can swell (hypertrophy) over time and can cause nasal congestion, breathing trouble, runny nose, post nasal drip, chronic nosebleeds and chronic sinus infections. Our turbinate reduction procedure reduces the size of the inferior turbinate while preserving its natural lining to preserve function. It’s performed in the office without intravenous or sedation. Because just hte nose is numbed, patients can drive themselves to and from the office.
