Dr. Sean Larner was raised in Warrington, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. During medical school, Dr. Larner was a member of Sigma Sigma Phi, the honorary osteopathic service fraternity, and upon graduation earned the college’s Excellence in Surgery Award.
He completed a residency in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Erie, PA (UPMC-Hamot). Dr. Larner furthered his training by completing a fellowship in Otology and Neurotology under the mentorship of Drs. Douglas Chen, MD and Todd Hillman, MD at Allegheny General Hospital and the Pittsburgh Ear Research Foundation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has published several articles in otolaryngology, and presented research at the local and national levels.
Dr. Larner is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and treats the full spectrum of pediatric and adult ENT disorders. His subspecialty interest is in the medical and surgical management of complex diseases affecting the ear and hearing, with expertise in recurrent ear infections, chronic otitis media, cholesteatoma, eustachian tube dysfunction, tympanic membrane perforations, hearing loss, ossicular chain reconstruction, and otosclerosis.
His hospital affiliations include Abington Surgical Center, Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, Chestnut Hill Hospital, and Einstein Medical Center Montgomery.
